Focus of the observation



Before observation, we know about the teaching method of the teacher in the classroom. We want to know about teaching method of the teacher and technique of motivating student in the classroom. Controlling student in the class. We have learnt about the step of teaching in the classroom, using the voice in the classroom, the controlling students in the class.
I have learn in the classroom, there are 10 students in the classroom. In the class have a good environment. There are many information to learn in the class. For example the map, ASEAN greeting, florae science and etc. For the observation, we have learnt about presentation of the teacher in the classroom. Teacher used the loudly sound. Teacher and students have a rapport in the classroom. They sing a song together for the warm up and start the new lesson in the classroom. Teacher teach student about “In my classroom topic”. Teacher teach about vocabulary in the classroom for example, window, table, pen, ruler etc. Student and teacher read the vocabulary together. Teacher teach the  structure by using Wh- word and answer. Teacher asked student and play activity together.
In the class have lesson structure there are the way the lesson opens, develop, and closes are the first, teacher open the lesson by using the question. Second, teacher develop the lesson by using the activities. The last, teacher closes the lesson by using the activities. There are 2 activities for this lesson. Teacher teach student to the lesson and the activities with lesson and give student to do exercise. Classroom management strategies, teacher teach student full time. For this lesson didn’t setting group. Sometime teacher give the maintaining order and students sit in the row for three. In the class have individual activities. Teaching strategies are presenting tasks and teaching technique. Teacher’s use of materials are Use of the textbooks and word card.   Teacher’s use of language are use of instructional language,  use of questions and  explanations of vocabulary and grammar. Student use of the mother tongue during class. Student problems with grammar and problems with pronunciation. Student interaction, appropriate time on task and student- to- student talk.
When teacher come to classroom the first thing is warm up like CLT. Then, teacher asked about vocabulary in classroom. Next, teacher present about the lesson. When teacher finish to teach, teacher give to students to do the exercises. After that, teacher ask student about the lesson again and the last is wrap up. When teacher teach the sound is very good. She can motivate students to interest the lesson. When she teach or give students to do exercises she have to walk around for observe the work of students.
Suggestions for teacher, teacher should be practice about vocabulary in that lesson before teach. When students can’t answer the questions, teacher should be tried to practice students to understanding before start to next topics. Suggestions for oneself, In teaching students to slowly because they have different abilities. We must to teach students to understanding the content correctly. Practice students to answer the questions for help they to think about that lesson. Suggestions for classroom action research, in classroom teacher should be use body language in teaching because students can understanding about contents more than this. Moreover, students are interest and try to learn more.

Teacher:          Ok, one by one

Teacher:          Students should use It’s to answer question.
                       When we have 2 pens, we can’t use what’s this, but use what  are these?
                       When answer you must add “s” in noun.

Students:         There are pens.
Teacher:          We use different question
                       What is this used with items that are far ourselves.
                       What is that used with items that are near ourselves.
                       What are these used with items that are near ourselves but noun is plural.

Second, focus of the observation 1) lesson structure 2) classroom management strategies 3) types of teaching activities 4) teaching strategies 5) teacher’s use of materials 6) teacher’s use of language 7) student’s use of language 8) student interaction.
In conclusion, exploring teaching and focus of the observation for the observation on the school.

Learning Log 1/ 7/ 56



            For this day, teacher teaches about how to make the cause syllabus and suggest the topic for writing on the syllabus.
          First, teacher teaches the method of make objective in the lesson plan for example, Students will be able to + V1 Communicate in 4 macro skills:  reading, listening, speaking, writing.
          Next, we should set interesting topic for this syllabus and should setting clear, specific and concise. On the syllabus have performance, condition, and standard.
          In conclusion,  we should comprehensible Input : Input à process à output à and outcome.

Learning log 24/ 06/ 13

          This week, teacher gives students presentation all the topic of the teaching approach. There are Vocabulary Teaching, Pronunciation Teaching, Culture Teaching, Wed based Learning Teaching, and the last Communicative Language Teaching (CLT). Then, Teacher talks all the teaching approach and conclude all of them. This week, teacher talks two thing, There are Curriculum and Teaching method of CLT.
          The fisrt thing, teaching approach have the Curriculum. Step of make the Curriculum are Belief ---> Approach
 ---> Curriculum are standards/ indicator, content, tasks, evaluation, activities, authentic assessment. --->
Cause, ---> Syllabus, and the last lesson plane.
          The second thing, teacher talks about CLT approach. It's conclude the teaching approach. There are Task Based Learning, Project Based Learning, Content Based Learning, Problem Based Learning and the last Communicative Language Learning ( CLT).
          In this week, teacher talks two thing. The first is Curriculum. The second is teaching method of CLT in this class. The Curriculum have Syllabus and process of learning. The process of learning are teaching, evaluation and learning.

          In conclusion, I can use the process of learning and teaching approach to apply in the class of teaching students in the class. and can be make the Syllabus and Curriculum of English Teaching correct.

          Teaching English grammar can be hard going - for the teacher and the students. It doesn't have to be difficult or painful, however. You can teach English grammar using fun learning games and before you know it your students will be more than willing. How does it work, you ask. Well, there has been a movement away from the traditional methods of teaching English grammar through writing, rewriting and worksheets to using a more active approach through games. Researchers have also begun to look at how and why these new methods work.

          Teaching English grammar can be hard going - for the teacher and the students. You can teach English grammar using fun learning  games and before you know it your students will be more than willing.
          Four sound reasons to teach grammar with games. There are
1. Arif Saricoban and Esen Metin say grammar games help children not only gain knowledge but be able to apply and use that learning.
2. Additionally, game have the advantage of allowing the students to " practice and internalise vocabulary, grammar and structures extensively" 3. One can use games to add excitement through competition or games which create bonding among students and teacher. 4. Ersoz says games can counter this as because :
Games that are amusing and challenging are highly motivating.
Games allow meaningful use of the language in context.
          Children are more motivated to learn grammar with games.
Students can relax when they learn grammar with funny games because can movement they can stand up, sit down, move various body part and pass.
          What kind of games work best ? the best games are listening, speaking, reading and writing games.Because that games can be practice 4 skills and students can create more new sentence by learn grammar with funny games.
          In my opinion, teacher can apply the teaching grammar with games because every students love to play games.

Learning log 17/ 06/ 13

In class, my friends are presentation about teaching method. They are presentation in front of the classroom. This week, my friends have a presentation for 6 topics. There are Task Based Learning Teaching, Project Based Learning Teaching, Listening Teaching, Speaking Teaching, Reading Teaching and Writing Teaching.
        The first topic is Task Based Learning Teaching. It has the process of  teaching, there are practice, production and presentation. Teacher  teaches students by do activities before and gives students find the learning what they want to know.
The last, teacher presentation about thing of students don’t know.
        The second topic is Project Based Learning Teaching.
It’s teach about the project. Teacher gives students to find the topic about what they want to learn or topic about environment in the locality. Students can be find the information and presentation in their class.
        The third topic is Listening Teaching. Teacher should do three steps for teaches about listening. There are pre - listening ( warm – up and presentation) , while- listening ( practice ), and the last post – listening ( wrap – up and production).
        The four topic is Speaking Teaching. The activities in the class  to teaching  about  speaking. Teacher should be asks students and gives students to answer the question. Teacher gives students to play in English about communication.
        The next topic is Reading Teaching. It’s learning by the text  newspaper  emblem or label. Teacher can teaches every method to students like asking priming questions, finding the meaning of vocabularies, reading the text, understand the text, evaluation and correctly.
The last topic is Writing Teaching. Teacher can teaches students to writing about controlled writing teaching, less – controlled writing teaching, and the last free writing teaching.
The presentation today, there are Task Based Learning Teaching, Project Based Learning Teaching, Listening Teaching, Speaking Teaching, Reading Teaching and Writing Teaching.
Teacher should be choose about some methods that want to teaches. The 6 topics is interesting to English Teaching.
